Our Role - Plain and Simple
Fundslender is an information and signposting service. We help you understand the borrowing landscape in the UK so that when you do make a decision, you are doing so with a clear picture of what is available and what it involves.
We do not approve or decline applications. We do not offer credit. We do not have access to your bank account or personal finances. At every stage until you click through to a lender's own website, you are simply reading and exploring - there is no commitment and no credit impact.
The Journey - Step by Step
-
1
You have a borrowing need or question
Maybe you want to consolidate debts, fund a home improvement, buy a car, or simply understand what your options are. You arrive on Fundslender - through a search, a link, or direct navigation.
-
2
You read and research - no impact on your credit
Our guides explain different loan types, how eligibility works, what credit checks mean, and what to consider before applying. None of this involves any credit check or any commitment of any kind. You are simply reading.
-
3
You explore options - still no commitment
Where we signpost to lenders or partner tools, exploring those options (viewing rates, using eligibility checkers) typically involves only a soft search - which does not affect your credit score. We aim to be clear about which type of search any tool will use.
-
4
You click through to a lender - this is where credit checks happen
When you decide to formally apply with a specific lender, you will click through to their own website. At that point, you are dealing directly with the lender - Fundslender has no role in or access to that application. The lender will run their own credit checks according to their own processes and terms. This is the point at which a hard credit search may occur.
-
5
You deal directly with your chosen lender
If approved, your loan agreement is between you and the lender. The lender's terms, their FCA authorisation, and their customer service processes govern everything from that point forward. For complaints about a product after you have been referred, the appropriate first step is always to contact the lender directly.
How We Are Funded
Fundslender is a free-to-use resource for consumers. We may receive a referral fee or commission from lenders or financial product partners when a user clicks through from Fundslender and completes an application. This does not change the cost of any product you take out - lenders account for these fees within their own commercial model.
Our editorial content is produced independently of our commercial relationships. A lender paying a higher commission does not rank more prominently as a result. Our editorial policy explains this in detail.
What Fundslender Does Not Do
- Approve or decline loan applications
- Offer credit or lend money
- Access, hold, or process any payment information on your behalf
- Guarantee any product's availability, rate, or terms
- Provide personalised financial advice tailored to your individual circumstances
If you need personalised financial advice, you should consult an FCA-authorised independent financial adviser. For free guidance, MoneyHelper provides independent support.
